Please arrive early (08:00 am) for a school presentation, before you meet your French teacher and start your French language course. In the afternoon there will be an orientation tour of Montpellier, to acclimatise you to the city. The school staff will show you round the main sights and point out the main useful places you will need to know.
Montpellier is a large city and students must allow for a commute of approx. 15 to 30 mins to college each morning. We recommend that you stay with local hosts (very good for your French) or in the 3* Apartment Hotel offered year round (or you are very welcome to make your own Hotel arrangements). The school offers Student residences (but they will be full of French University students or late teens/early 20s language students, so are not recommended for students on this programme).
Hosts: Great for your language skills! Ideal if you want to completely immerse yourself and really experience daily French life, with French people. However it will mean a commute into the school from the residential areas of the city.
3* Apartment Hotel: Perfect for retaining your independence! Just a 10/15 minute tram trip from the language school and city centre. The studios are modern, bright and comfortable with a small kitchen attached (ideal for self catering). There is a roof top swimming pool with great city views. The tram stop is right in front of the Apartment Hotel, so getting into the city centre and to the school is no trouble at all.
If staying with hosts, French language students are welcome to take advantage of the transfer service provided by the college (free of charge). If in a residence, or any accommodation other than host accommodation, students need to make their own way on arrival in Montpellier.
