Students participate in specific small group classes (no more than 6 per class) in an Over 50 Course group, if there are sufficient students at the same language level
they are placed in a Standard Course group (up to 12 students) with other language students
and then relax and enjoy the activity programme offered.

The course provides a highly practical approach to the language and is fabulous for developing self-confidence in communication and comprehension. The aim is to help students improve their French whilst discovering the art, culture, gastronomy and countryside of the Riviera.

An activity programme is offered over 3 half days per week and includes one full day excursion

Visits and activities are chosen from the following options; Antibes town visit, Saint Paul de Vence, Cannes, or The Maeght Foundation. Excursion and wine tasting in ‘Chateau du Bellet’, visit to the Picasso Museum or Vallauris (famous for its pottery). Game of Petanque (boules), cooking lesson of Provencal dishes, visit to Grasse Perfumery in Fragonard, or a trip to Gourdon or Gorges du Loup. Trip to Monaco and the Museum of Oceanography and Aquarium in Monaco. Full day excursion to Aix en Provence or Nice. Cultural evening: To a show depending on theatre programmes or an Aperitif accompanied by traditional Provencal specialties.

First Day

The first morning is dedicated to welcoming all new students, presenting the school and an information meeting, when you will be issued with all the information you need for your stay. You will also meet the school staff before heading off to visit Antibes. The initial meeting is set at 8:30 am and is held at the school.

On the first Monday of the course students will meet in the reception area at the school. The school will organize a welcome meeting and a tour of Antibes to introduce you to the school and town. At 2.00 pm you’ll take a written and oral test so that the school staff can assess your level and assign you to a suitable class. Your class, room number and teacher’s name will be posted the following morning on the information board in the school hall.

Practical Information

If there are not sufficient older students to form a separate class of the right language level, students are mixed with other language students for their French lessons. Please note, there are no lessons on the first Monday, the day is reserved for assessment, induction and class assignment.


Residence = single or double studios (Monday to Friday, breakfast and lunch included). Accommodation included in this programme: Students are placed in one of the school’s studio apartments (with air-conditioning), equipped kitchenette, television and terrace or balcony.
