Spanish for Teenagers: Malaga

Spanish Summer course in Malaga

Open to : 16/20yr old students           Malaga Teenager Course download link

Is this course for you ?
Yes.  If you're looking for an academically demanding but also VERY sociable course with other, older, teenagers.

The Spanish Summer courses offered in Malaga and are ideal for teenage students looking to revise their Spanish skills for personal interest or academic need.  Emphasis is placed on oral skills and developing higher levels of confidence.  Past teenage students have enjoyed the chance to practise their Spanish and loved the social environment with its international mix of students.  The Spanish language school offers an individual study environment whereby students can follow a Spanish course with other teenagers of their own age, who are at a similar level of Spanish ability (this is an adult college though, so it won't only be teenagers in the college or the residence).

In addition the Spanish school in Malaga offers a range of social activities to provide contrast and bring an additional element of fun to the programme.  The language school is aware that the teenagers are on holiday and none of these programmes aim to be crammer environments.

Students are immersed in Spain, speaking Spanish with native Spanish speaking teachers (all centres) but there are no on site monitors at the Malaga language school.

Spanish Course Description

Learn Spanish in Malaga! It is a truly “Spanish” city, set on the Mediterranean coast and has something to please everyone.  The city is dynamic by day and night, the seaside promenade is alive with restaurants, pizzerias and cafes and the college is close to it all, yet set in a quiet residential area perfect for study.  It is within easy reach by air from Malaga and greatly appeals to our older teenage students.
The school has modern air-conditioned classrooms, a multi media centre, a cinema room, a purpose built dance studio, a restaurant & bar, a fabulous sun terrace and a small swimming pool.  Lessons are held in the main school, up in the hills, within easy walking distance of the seafront shops and cafes and the long, sandy beaches.
NB: This Spanish language school operates as a year round centre and does not ONLY offer Spanish & Fun Programmes for 16/20 years.

The college has offered Teenage Spanish language courses for many years now and the programmes are ONLY offered in the Summer holidays. Students can either stay with local Spanish hosts, in which case they will have to walk/take a short bus ride to college each day or in the on site residence.
The combination of the Spanish language lessons with a busy activity programme has real appeal! The teenage students study Spanish in the classroom each afternoon, Monday to Friday (so no being late for class!) and each morning are offered a range of cultural and social activities, either on site or in the local area (students can also catch up on homework from the day before). The evenings and weekends are dedicated to activities or free time.
This is the perfect language course for older teenagers looking to improve their Spanish language skills with their peers, have a lot of fun, work hard and enjoy the Spanish sunshine!

Option One: The college has it’s own year round campus residence, on the same site as the college itself, which gives students access to ALL its many facilities, but does mean that there will be some adult language students on site, and in the residence as well.  Students have to purchase their meals as they go (breakfast is generally taken on site, lunches and evening meals may be purchased on site but are frequently taken at one of the numerous cafes/restaurants along the promenade).  Set in self contained grounds; the College is 15 minutes from the centre of Malaga by bus and only 5/7 minutes on foot from the nearest beaches.
The residence bedrooms are for one, two or three students are all equipped with small en suite shower/WC rooms (no air conditioning).  There are no phones in the rooms, but communal public phones are available on campus.  There are a lot of younger students 16/22 years of age in the college during the summer months and the campus accommodation comes highly recommended by CESA staff and past Spanish Summer Course students.

Residence includes: a mini-campus with classrooms, library, multimedia room, halls, sports and dance room, 24/7 reception, restaurant, swimming pool, terraces, cultural activities department and laundry. All bedrooms (single, shared or multiple) have a (small) private bath or shower room, safe, telephone and free Wi-Fi and include cleaning service.

Option Two:  With local hosts in private households in and around the eastern residential area of Malaga on a breakfast & lunch basis.  Evening meals are taken at the college or at a café/restaurant along the promenade.  The hosts are generally within a short walk from the college, allow 15/25 minutes.  Students are housed in single or shared rooms (with another language student).

Going out Permission

For students aged 16 to 20 years old.
Participants on the Summer Programme are not given a curfew, however the hosts and residence staff are asked to report any inappropriate behaviour to the college, who will forward it on to the student’s parents.  Please note this college also offers adult programme throughout the summer.  A code of conduct relating to Under 18 year olds is detailed in the Briefing Pack, issued once a student is enrolled.
