Anthea: Combined Course in Cologne

One week

I expected to be taught a mixture of grammar and topics and to have homework each day. I could not have hoped for a better course.

I found the lessons very beneficial. They were always prepared, and a variety of teaching methods were used, which greatly helped to reinforce what we had learnt. The teachers were also very patient, and explained things clearly. They also encouraged everyone to speak.

I found that the German language school in Cologne had a welcoming atmosphere and the teachers were very helpful and friendly. The school is also well located, as it is fairly accessible, but not too near the centre so it is fairly quiet.

I found that the best part was the afternoon individual lessons, as I was able to concentrate on areas of grammar which I found hardest.

I found the students friendly and welcoming. I also found it interesting to meet people from so many different nationalities.

I also felt that the lessons to free time ratio was right for me.

I was very impressed with Cologne. The local people were friendly and welcoming and I had plenty of opportunities to speak German to them. There is also a good range of restaurants, serving relatively cheap meals to appeal to all tastes.

I stayed in a hotel; I found it very comfortable and was pleased with it.

I found the CESA staff very helpful. They were also knowledgeable about the course and were able to answer any questions I had.

I would like to thank everyone concerned for organising such an excellent course for me.
I greatly enjoyed the course and found it extremely beneficial to my knowledge of German. I would definitely go again and recommend it to others.”
