David: 3 weeks Standard Course

David, in his early 60’s was looking for a short Italian course week programme, suitable for a beginner.
He was studying a language abroad for the first time.

“I found the whole experience very enjoyable. It was the first time I had taken this type of trip and I would definitely go again, perhaps to a different part of Italy next time.  The help and assistance I received from CESA Languages staff, was excellent. From making the enquiry by telephone I was booked on the course and informed within a couple of hours.
The CESA website and information pack gave me a good idea of what to expect. I knew there would be a test of my Italian language skills and that I’d be put into a class of no more than 12 students, at my level.
I felt all expectations were met; the teaching material handed out was excellent, the classrooms were of a good size, well lit, comfortable and nicely decorated. For me the lessons worked well and were conducted in what I would call a traditional manner.
I found this school to be excellent. It was well run, with friendly staff and ideally situated in Siena. The language course went very well and I have no criticism or worst parts. There was a wide range of nationalities among the 9 pupils in the class, everyone mixed together in a friendly manner even across the age range. The out of lesson activities were well arranged and I found the weekend day trip into the heart of Tuscany to be a wonderful day out. I particularly enjoyed the wine tasting event. As for the lessons, I enjoyed them so much I could have done more!
Siena is a wonderful destination, full of beautiful and interesting buildings, very vibrant and full of life. I did not find it particularly cheap but the restaurants served excellent food and I felt good value for the money. I was able to speak outside of the class with local people and this helped to build my confidence. I felt safe in the town during the day. There is plenty to do, sight-seeing, restaurants, cinema and shopping.
My host was a pleasant lady and a good cook. The accommodation was clean, adequately furnished and well situated within the city and about 10 minutes walk from the school. I would recommend this household and indeed the whole experience to other students – whatever your age!”
