French and beach life in Antibes

Alicia Carter
French Teenager course
2 weeks French programme in Antibes

I was looking for a serious course to help me improve my French, with GCSE’s behind me, didn’t feel I was anyway ready for the AS year to come.  Wanted a course that was fun, but where I’d learn a lot. The teachers made us work, but we had fun too and the beach life in Antibes is terrific!!

Linguistically it worked well for me and the French lessons in Antibes were good.  My teachers were great fun and kept lessons interesting and I felt I got a lot out of the trip.  You could see the teachers making an effort to make sure no one in the class felt left behind, and were included all the time, which I thought was good.

I thought the location of the campus, outside of central Antibes, would be a problem, but I loved the campus, with its ping pong, gardens for chilling in and the large above ground pool for cooling down in.  The shuttle buses were really useful as it meant we could easily and quickly get to the beach in the afternoons, or if you wanted to go shopping in Antibes.

I loved the international vibe at the campus.  Great mix of students from across Europe, made friends with people from Germany, Spain and Ireland as well as Brits, which I hadn’t really expected.

Really enjoyed the trip to the Iles de Lerins and Cannes on Saturday, and always felt safe when in Antibes or Juan les Pins.  I found I was able to quite easily speak with the locals and loved the easy access to the beach.  The beach really made the trip for me.  Loved the concept of showers on the beach.

Would certainly go again to improve my French.
Good times!
