Julie in Cadiz
I was looking for a real Spanish experience so wanted to get away from the coasts everyone knew well. I headed to Cadiz, as it offered plenty of sunshine, great beaches, an authentic Andalucian lifestyle and was off the typical tourist track.
So enjoyed my time in Cadiz. It’s a lovely city, easy to walk around and has a lovely historic centre and good modern city right alongside it. The new bridge is impressive too! The school is in the modern section of the city, but is only 10 minutes walk to the heart of the historic centre and there are beaches everywhere. Lovely golden sands on every beach. The sunset over La Caleta beach is worth stopping for and plenty of people do – recommend anyone who goes to Cadiz does the same.
The teachers were great. Professional but friendly. Really pleased with the school, modern, light and comfortable. Well structured classes. Really enjoyed by fortnight studying Spanish in Cadiz. Learnt new vocab, revised my tenses and HAD to speak Spanish so became much more confident in speaking the language, which is what it was all about for me.
Best thing about the programme was being made to speak Spanish, really had no where to go on this, so just got on with it! Loved getting to know the other students and sharing the experience with them. Chilling in local cafes and eating fabulous food.
Worst thing was realising I should have booked for longer. Would have loved to make more progress than I did. Sadly had to return to work, paying rent and the grey clouds of home.
If you get the chance head for the sun – and learn Spanish in Cadiz!
