Mrs Collis-Hastie: 2 week Over 50s Course

“I expected to have an opportunity to extend my Spanish vocabulary especially the verb tenses and to improve my pronunciation. To meet a variety of European students from a similar age group so that the intellectual side of the work could be tempered and enlivened by the social contacts.

Were my expectations met? Very much so! The standard of teaching at the Spanish school in Malaga was excellent and so was the organisation and content of the lessons, and I speak as a teacher of over 40 years experience! The lessons were made humorous, interesting and relative to modern Spanish life.

The staff and teachers were very approachable and helpful in every way, lessons are well prepared. The school was well equipped with a language lab and computer courses for all levels. The terrace and swimming pool were great and really well used.

There was an interesting range of students 18-80, all very friendly and sociable. There were 7 students in my class, which made a fascinating mix. The visits organised by the school were very good. We went to Granada with teacher Agastin as a super guide and Nerja with Rafael, very memorable!

Malaga makes a really interesting city. We ate out at lunchtimes in some excellent restaurants. The bar and restaurant at the college were very good value for the younger students. I can’t really comment on the night-life, I went to bed at 10 pm, very tired! I know the younger students found some lively clubs in Malaga. The locals were very friendly and keen to talk to you.

I was delighted with my accommodation, my executive room was of a very high standard and I was very comfortable. The bathroom towels were good and changed daily (very impressive), there is also laundry facilities and an ironing board available.

I had no problems what so ever; I would definitely recommend CESA to any potential students. I learned a great deal on the course and I am full of praise for the standard of teaching I received. “
