Shezre: 4 week Intensive Course
Shezre decided to follow several language programmes with us; to Cannes, Madrid, Seville and Granada. Here she talks about her initial 4-week Intensive Group course in Madrid in NovemberĀ for her Gap Year.
“Having studied A-level Spanish I already have a basic knowledge of the language, and expected it to become easier to speak in everyday situations, without having to think so much! Other than that I didn’t know what else to expect.
I loved the Spanish course in the Madrid school, its situation, staff and students. The school is located opposite the Retiro Park, which was great. The staff were lovely, very friendly and approachable. The students were of all different ages and from different places but there were a lot of really wonderful people. The lessons differed greatly from week to week.
It’s difficult to suggest improvements as it has a lot to do with the group and the interaction between the students. I found that the private lessons I had were very beneficial. I loved the excursions organised by the school and the fiestas.
Madrid was great! It was so cheap compared to London and if you like tapas you can constantly eat well. The night life is great; I went out nearly every night. The clubs offer free drinks, and free entrance, they also host student nights. The people in the bars and clubs were good to talk to and always willing to let you practise your Spanish. Shopping is also great in Madrid, and so are the museums – I went to a lot of art galleries!
CESA was brilliant! Katherine was on the phone to myself and the school with help and advice, Thanks Katherine!
Overall I loved the course, I would definitely go again, I had an absolutely fantastic time! I met lots of great people and now have friends from all over the world from different backgrounds, of different ages. I loved Madrid and learnt lots of Spanish!”
