Students will still arrive on Sunday, enjoy a school excursion on Monday, and lessons will be extended (15 mins per day) for the classes held Tuesday/Friday that week.
The college is aware that the students are on holiday so whilst students are immersed in daily Spanish life, speaking Spanish with native Spanish speaking teachers, there are also college monitors in Benalmadena who help organise the social activities each week and share their time with the international students.
If you want to learn Spanish with other teenagers in a beautiful, sunny and charming Andalucian town, Benalmadena is ideal. Originally a fishing village, it is still a sea of whitewashed little houses with good shops, a wonderful marina and beaches just a short walk away. Benalmadena is just a short trip from Malaga airport. The school is within easy walk of the beach and greatly appeals to our younger language students.
The college has offered Teenage Spanish language courses for many years now and provides programmes over the Easter and Summer holidays. Students always stay with local Spanish hosts.
The combination of the Spanish language lessons with a busy activity programme has real appeal! Every morning, from Monday to Friday, students study Spanish in the classroom and then each afternoon are kept busy by the dedicated Spanish group leaders, who organise a range of sporting, social and cultural activities either on site or in the local area. The weekends are dedicated to activities or free time. So if you like to be busy, this is the perfect language course!
A range of activities are offered (all accompanied/supervised by the monitors) as an inclusive part of this Spanish programme during the Easter and Summer course dates, including:-
1/ Three afternoons of sports per week: badminton, volleyball, swimming, football, basketball, table tennis etc
2/ Dance classes: Sevillanas, Salsa and other Latino dances
3/ One half day excursion (Malaga, Marbella, Mijas & Nerja) and one full day excursion (Saturday trips – Granada, Seville, Cordoba or Ronda including entrance fees to any museums or monuments) per week
4/ Three evening activities per week: fancy dress parties, a trip to the open air cinema, bowling and a disco party once a week.
Full details of each weekly programme is provided on the first Monday, with timetable, meeting points etc
# Please see the Autumn Half-Term PDF details for activity details.
With local hosts in private households in and around Benalmadena on a full-board basis.
Students are housed in shared rooms with another language student (same gender, different nationality, unless you book with a friend).
Lunches are taken with the hosts at the weekend, at the college (hot buffet lunch) in the week or as picnics arranged by your hosts, if on a weekend excursion.
The hosts are generally within a short walk from the college, but late enrolments may mean students can be up to 30 minutes commute, including a short train journey, from the college.
