Follow a one or two week mini group French course in the beautiful city of Tours, improve your French in an adult orientated French language school. You will soon feel at ease and develop your confidence, and you should make rapid progress as the small class sizes ensure excellent teacher attention. The small number of students in each class ensures the teachers can focus on spoken French. Your oral participation is encouraged by a relaxed atmosphere and only French is ever spoken!

The courses are officially open to all adults aged 18 years up.  In reality the majority of students attracted to studying in Tours are in their 40s or older.  There will be some younger students in the Summer period, but we strongly recommend this programme to adults year round, who prefer to study with their peers.

Activities

This school offers an excursion once a week, but otherwise students are left to explore Tours and the Loire region by themselves or with other students. Excursions are offered to the Renaissance Châteaux of the Loire, Chambord, Chenonceau, Azal-le-Rideaux etc.

First Day

One of the teachers will take the new students on a guided visit of the school premises, before you take a French language test, lasting about 2 hours (testing your written and spoken French) to allow the School staff to evaluate your knowledge and place you in a small group class at the correct level for you. The staff will take time to discuss your motivation, expectations and special interests. If you have never studied French before (or only a little) the test will either not take place or only take a short time and they can start your first lesson immediately. The school will also spend about 45 minutes taking you on a tour of the city near the school.

Practical Information

  • Accommodation payment is made in Euros, once in France, not via CESA
