Why wouldn’t you want to learn French in Guadeloupe and spend some time in the Caribbean?

The Guadeloupe seas are warm, the sun shines practically every day and the life style is laid back and relaxed.  If you need to improve your French, you can combine your studies with some Creole culture and meet other like-minded students from around the world.

The school draws students during the northern hemisphere’s Autumn, Winter and early Spring, but has plenty to attract students, year round. So if you like the idea of adding a little Creole and a lot of sunshine to the mix – French classes in Le Gosier, Guadeloupe could be just the thing for you!

CESA Plus Points:

  • Good quality French courses,  ideal for adults language learners year round
  • French conversation classes can be combined with local water sports for anyone looking for a language course with added fun
  • Great location, just a couple of minute’s walk from the beach and amazing sea views from the school windows!

After just three weeks of classes at the French school in Guadeloupe, I had advanced significantly (testing at B2, leaving with a level of “utilisateur independant avance”). During that time, we also took a trip with all students at the institute, visiting … a slave cemetery … an anthropological museum and a rum distillery.

About the School

Established in 1994, the French language school in Guadeloupe, in Le Gosier, is located in a colonial style building, literally two minutes walk from the beach, and with banks, post office, restaurants and shops all around it. The language college has 5 classrooms, a lounge area, 4 computers for student use, a library and a kitchen area. It provides a welcoming, intimate and relaxed study environment.

The majority of students follow a programme of 2 to 4 weeks duration.  Others can only spare one week – but we recommend a 2 week stay or longer if your schedule allows, in order to get the most linguistically and culturally from your programme. It is popular during the warmer months of the year (European winter time – November to late February) as the school is busier when Europe is cold and grey!

The staff are always on hand should you have any questions once on your language course. The school requires all their teachers to have university degrees and extensive experience teaching French as a Foreign Language.
