Learn German in Kitzbühel: Social Life
Kitzbuhel and the surrounding region is beautiful and for nature or sports lovers there is always something on offer.
Swim in the picturesque and unspoilt Schwarzsee lake, is a very special Kitzbühel experience.
The mountains are breathtaking whatever the time of year. There is always something to inspire and photograph!
Hiking when the snows have gone attracts students throughout the Spring and Summer time.
Enjoy exploring the shops and cafes/restaurants in the town.
If you’re a golfer and want to combine learning German with playing golf then have a look at the Golf courses in Kitzbühel and the Tyrol region – there are a lot to choose from! See www.kitzbuehel-golf.com to find out more.
This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and the mountain walks and the natural lakes are spectacularly beautiful.
The school also recommend (and sometimes arrange whole day trips) visits to the historic towns of Innsbruck, Salzburg and and other places of interest.
Cultural excursions in the school bus are always accompanied by a native German speaking teacher, who encourages students to speak German and helps beginners to use their new language skills.
Learn German and Ski
Of course in the winter the main focus for students after their German classes is always skiing!
Or alternatively snowboarding, cross country skiing, ice skating, indoor tennis, climbing in the hall, amazing winter landscape photography, wellness hotel pampering, aprés ski… quite a busy range of options really!
Students can normally ski from the end of November until late April, but this is obviously dependent on snow conditions (though early in the season students can always ski in Kaprun instead). To get an update on snow and which lifts are operating, look at the Kitzbühel Bergbahn’s website at www.bergbahn-kitzbuehel.at
The school staff usually agree a skiing/boarding schedule during the coffee break between morning lessons where we will ski, based on the weather conditions, snow conditions and experience of the language student group. Remember the school is a 5 minute walk from the nearest ski bus stop, and the staff normally fix a time to meet there before setting off together for the slopes. The School Director, who leads the group, is a former ski instructor and knows the mountains very well and so he advises on the best places to ski and ensures the group stay together.
