Learn Russian in St Petersburg

Whatever your reasons for learning Russian, the school in St Petersburg has an appropriate course to offer.

Many students are now looking to improve their Russian skills for professional reasons to further their careers, as demand for modern, communicative Russian has exploded in recent years, others have academic goals, possibly a love of the language of Pushkin and Tolstoy, to inspire them.

The area is rich in landmark buildings, such as the Grand Hotel Europe, the Russian Museum or the Mikhailovsky theatre. The closest metro station (Nevsky Prospekt) is less than 5 minutes walk from the school. You cannot be more centrally located in St.Petersburg!

The language school is housed in a historical, yet newly renovated building. The classrooms are well appointed and offer a wide range of Russian language course options,  suitable for private, group or mini-group classes and the school is at its busiest in the University summer holidays.

Loved St Petersburg, a great place to study and live in. I thought food etc was very cheap, most expensive stuff was clothes and western type products. I spoke with local people outside class, haggled successfully at markets, spoke with new people when out socially etc, and obviously with my host family.
A great 10 weeks and a lot of Russian learnt. Thanks CESA!

The Russian language school, established in 1992, is located in the historical city centre, between the Russian Museum, the Mikahilovsky Zamok (built by Pavel I, son of Catherine the Great), the circus and near two very nice parks. The area offers some of the finest examples of St. Petersburg architecture and is close to the Fontanka and Neva rivers. The famous Nevsky Prospect is just a short walk away, and the closest metro station to the Russian school (Nevsky Prospekt/Gostiny Dvor) is simply a five minute walk away. A wide range of cafés, bars, restaurants and shops are available just across the street.

The language school is housed in a historical, yet newly renovated building. The latest technologies were installed, including LED lighting throughout, efficient sound insulation, state of the art ventilation in all rooms, and a super fast WiFi network. All 13 classrooms come with a modern design and have access to natural light. All of the school’s windows (18 in total) open on to a view of a quiet yard in the historical centre of St. Petersburg.

The staff are always on hand should students have any questions once on the Russian courses. The Russian Language School requires that all their teachers have university degrees either in Linguistics or Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language and extensive experience teaching Russian as a Foreign Language.
