One night (my host mother) didn’t give me a spoon for my yoghurt and she said, jokingly, “Tu dois me demander de t’en donner une, sinon tu ne peux pas le manger!” (You have to ask me for one otherwise you won’t be able to eat it) I replied “Est-ce que je peux avoir un… ce n’est pas une forchette, ce n’est pas un couteau, c’est l’autre truc…argh! j’ai oublié le nom.” (Can I have a… it’s not a fork, it’s not a knife, it’s the other thing… argh! I’ve forgotten the name) “Une cuillère, une cuillère!!” she shouted and I have never forgotten it since!

With many years of teaching experience the Montpellier school (established in 1998) is just one minutes stroll from Place de la Comedie (so you are very central) and suits ALL language learners, whether beginners to the French language, or elementary through to advanced levels (the school offers 7 language levels on general French courses) and caters for 90 to 300 students, each month.
The French school offers a brilliant, informal social programme including wine tasting, cheese tasting, a welcome party at the college, dinner in a local restaurant, wine bar visits etc. plus tours around Montpellier and excursions to places of local interest (with a school guide, talking in French!). The school particularly appeals to language students looking for intensive revision and the long term Academic Year or Languages for Life courses.
The French language school in Montpellier is located in two separate buildings, located just a couple of minutes walk from each other and there are a wonderful selection of restaurants, shops and cafes in and around the historic centre. The primary building is located in a stylish 18th c. historic mansion, which still has period charm, but has been refurbished and equipped to modern standards with 12 spacious classrooms (with air con), a small library, a coffee area with flat screen computers for student use. The second building is located on the first floor of a modern building. It has been recently renovated and offers 8 classrooms (with air con) and the school’s main office. WiFi is available on site and there are plenty of computers for student use.
All the teachers are native French speakers and are fully qualified and experienced in teaching French as a foreign language.
Montpellier is just 6 miles inland from the Mediterranean coast, a beautiful & historic city, located between Provence and the Mediterranean’s “Golf de Lion”, with a mild climate and hot summers.
