Public Holidays: The school is closed on the following public holidays. Group lessons are not made up or refunded, 01 & 25 Apr, 01 May, 15 Aug & 01 Nov 2024
– Where a language group of the correct level cannot be made up of just students on the Over 50 course, students may be incorporated into the open classes of the Standard Course, offered to all language levels
– Accommodation is carefully chosen and is within 20-30 minutes of the school by foot or public transport
– All activities are guided, and commentary is provided in Italian
Arrival at school for everyone (whatever their language level): 08.30 hrs
Beginners start their class at 09.00. Non-beginners will take a Language Level test to determine their class placement.
The class lists and timetables will be made available on the message board and non-beginners will start classes either in the morning or afternoon according to the schedule of the week.
Over 2 weeks:
30 group lessons of Italian language
+ 4 guided visits to Siena museums
+ 2 evening culinary lessons
+ 1 wine tasting
+ farewell dinner
Suitable for all levels, (beginners to advanced students), with the same attitude: learning the practical elements of a foreign language in different environments
Hands-on cooking lessons in the evening
Small group Italian classes:
max 12 students, with an average of 8 students per class
2 half-day excursions
Syllabus tailored to specific academic requests and needs
Practical learning experience with project work and real examples
Wine tasting and concert (recital)

Public holidays: There are public holidays in the year, but they don’t coincide with the Over 50 course dates.

Please note it is not possible to offer a private bathroom with host accommodation in Siena. If this is important to you, please discuss this with the CESA staff.

We recommend students fly to Florence’s Intl airport or Pisa Intl airport and then take the train to Siena. You can then take a taxi or book a transfer from the train station to your accommodation.
