French Summer School in Biarritz: Social Life
French and Teenage Courses
The school staff arrange a variety of additional activities after the official French and Teenagers programmes with the Activity or Surfing programme each week, depending on the time available, including; football matches, beach volley contests, quizzes, beach volleyball, board games, photo contests and treasure hunts. It’s a great way to get to know each other and of course to practise your French outside of the formal class sessions!
On Wednesday afternoon (half-day) and Saturday (full-day) excursions are offered as an inclusive part of the programme, to Bayonne, St Jean de Luz, St Jean Pied de Port, Espelette and La Rhune. Students are accompanied by school staff, to encourage a little more French conversation wherever possible…
One evening a week (as a rule Friday night) the school arranges an activity to bring the students together so they can relax and chat. Popular events include a bowling night, a trip to the cinema or a night spent on the beach. Normally timetabled 8.30 to 11.00 pm. Otherwise students are expected to stay at home with their hosts, so they can practise their French, unless they have parental permission to go out in the evening.
