Antibes ideally located between Nice and Cannes, 13 kms away from the cote d`Azur international airport. Antibes was founded by the Greeks as Antipolis, “the city opposite Nice”.
The area attracts everyone, tourists and language students alike. It is very fashionable with the young and vibrant who come to party in the nightclubs and languish on the expensive yachts moored in the harbour. This picturesque resort boasts cobbled streets with flower-filled squares that have appealed to such artists as Picasso. Antibes is extremely animated, has one of the finest markets on the coast and the best Picasso collection in its ancient seafront castle; and the southern end still has its woods of pine, in which the most exclusive mansions hide. There are some beautiful beaches locally, one of the best is “Juan les Pins beach”.
The language college in Antibes appeals to CESA students on a year round basis, but particularly so in the hot summer months. Early bookings for July and August are highly recommended.
With its 16 miles of sandy beaches and 300 days of sunshine a year, Antibes is an up-and-coming destination on the Côte d’Azur ! Located between Nice and Cannes, Antibes is the second largest town on the Côte d’Azur with a population of 75,000 in winter and twice that number in summer. At the same time it remains an intimate, friendly town, where you’ll soon find your way around. And you’re just a few minutes from all the attractions of Juan les Pins! Antibes also has largest marina on the Mediterranean as well as the Picasso museum. The great writers Guy de Maupassant and Jules Verne are among its famous visitors.
You can get to Cannes, Nice, Monaco or Italy by train every half hour, and Saint Tropez is a 70 minute boat ride away. In short, the main advantage of Antibes is that you’re on the Côte d’Azur in a safe environment and a friendly town that’s just a few minutes’ walk from Juan les Pins and also close to Nice, Cannes and Nice airport.
