Learn French in Paris (Les Halles): Accommodation

Paris is a large city, so please allow for a commute of approx. 20 to 40 mins to college each morning.

French hosts/Private households

  • Open to 16 yrs + age group
  • Single room
  • Shared room (if with a friend)
  • 20 to 50 minutes commute to school
  • Breakfast or Half-board
  • Limited private bathroom option

Living with local French hosts is a great way to enhance your learning experience. The French hosts live in apartments in the city’s residential districts, not in the city centre so commuting is inevitable. They offer the opportunity to experience day to day life as lived by Parisians and social conversation (but are not there to show you the sights or help with homework!). Whilst some hosts are traditional families with children, most of them are couple or retired ladies, with spare room and a willingness to receive international students into their homes. They live in central Paris or adjacent suburbs, so commuting is unavoidable.

Host/Private household accommodation can be booked on the following basis:

  • single room with breakfast only (no kitchen access)
  • single room with half-board (breakfast and evening meal)
  • shared room with breakfast only (no kitchen access)
  • shared room with half-board (breakfast and evening meal)

NB: (shared room is only available if booking with a friend)

Some hosts can offer private bathrooms to guests, at extra cost.
Please note private bathrooms are not en suite (Parisian apartments are in old buildings, that don’t offer this as a facility)
