Learn German in Munich: Accommodation

German language students in Munich can choose to stay right next to the college in the student apartments or student studios, experience sharing daily life with German hosts, by staying with hosts in a private household in Munich. Please be aware that as Munich is a large city, and you should expect a daily commute to college (approx 20/40 mins each way).

Standard Apartment

  • Offered to students aged 20 yrs +
  • Approx 20/30 minutes commute to school

In the student apartments you will share a flat with other students studying at the language school. You have the option to book a twin room which you will share with another student of a different nationality or to book a single room just for yourself. In both cases, you will be sharing the kitchen and bathroom. Early reservations for July and August are essential!
A deposit will be required on arrival.

Standard Plus Apartment

  • Offered to students aged 20 yrs +
  • Approx 20 minutes commute to school

This option offers the same possibilities as the normal shared students’ apartment, however there is a greater degree of comfort as facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher and above all WiFi/WLAN internet connection. Early summer reservations are essential! A deposit will be required on arrival.

Student House

  • Offered to students aged 18 yrs +
  • 15/20 minutes commute to school by train
  • Trains are every 20 minutes to and from the city (even late into the night as it is the train route to the airport)

The House caters for around 7 students, who have their own rooms (3 rooms can also be shared rooms, or just used as a single room). The house has 2 bathrooms with a shower/bath, and another bathroom with a toilet and sink. There are also communal facilities including a washing machine, dishwasher, iron and ironing board and above all WiFi/WLAN internet connection. A fantastic way to make close friends with people of all nationalities from the school, all with the common goal of learning German! A popular choice with 18/21 yr olds throughout the year. Early summer reservations are essential! A deposit will be required on arrival.

Student Studios

  • Offered to students aged 18 yrs +
  • 15/30 minutes commute to school

If you’d prefer greater independence, the self-catering apartments with a small kitchenette and private bathroom will appeal to you. You can bring a second person at extra charge (please indicate this request on enrolment). A deposit will be required on arrival.

German hosts / Private Household

  • Offered to students aged 16 yrs +
  • 20/40 minutes commute to school

Students like to stay with German hosts as a way of increasing their their opportunities to talk German out of class. The hosts offer single room accommodation on a half-board basis (breakfast and evening meal) or breakfast only basis.
The hosts provide you with a chance to sample German daily life first-hand, however bear in mind Munich is a large city and commuting to college from your host is an inevitability (allow 20/40 minutes+ for the one way trip to college). Public transport in the city is well priced, efficient and user friendly but unavoidable in a city of this size.
There is no such thing as a classical “host family”, so your accommodation could be with a traditional family of father, mother, two kids and a dog or a single mother and her child, a single person or a couple. In any case, the school will do all they can to match your needs and interests.
If you have any special requests early reservation for the summer period is essential.

Studio apartments

  • Offered to students aged 18 yrs +
  • Sole occupancy studios
  • 15/25 minutes commute to school

This type of accommodation offers a high standard to those students who would like to have their own private apartment with a 3-star hotel standard. There is a fully equipped kitchenette, a private bathroom plus additional amenities.
A deposit is required on arrival.

Travel

Arrive: Sunday PM
Depart: Saturday PM

We recommend that you fly direct to Munich airport, and then go by train from the airport to your accommodation. Students are welcome to take advantage of the transfer service from the airport to their accommodation for an extra charge. Prices are quoted on the CESA Course Finder.
