Standard Course, Siena

I expected to improve any spoken Italian by growing in confidence during the course. I certainly feel more confident when I speak, but hindsight tells me that 2 weeks was perhaps not long enough for me to progress as much as I would have liked to.
I thought that the lessons were taught in a good style with a lot of student participation. The teachers were all very nice; they were especially kind to me when I felt a little wobbly in the first week. The school situation was also very convenient.
The best part of my course was the language lessons-playing games like “taboo” (unfortunately there was no alcohol involved). I also felt that the private lessons were extremely useful.
The school provided a very good amount of information on Siena. I felt very safe whilst exploring the entertainment in the city and the locals were very friendly and always willing to stop and speak. Siena is fairly small so it wasn’t very daunting for a younger student. I really enjoyed going out for a couple of drinks with my friends, there are some delightful bars with really good atmosphere.
My host family were very welcoming and accommodating. They served me some wonderful food and the apartment was very comfortable. At the weekend they took me to a lake and were the ideal hosts for a younger student such as myself.
CESA were extremely helpful at all stages of course and I would love to go back to Siena – Thanks CESA!
