CESA’s French for Teenagers course in Cannes is a 1–4 week summer programme for students aged 13–17 at A1–B2 level. It includes 20 or 25 lessons a week in classes of up to 15, four afternoons of activities or excursions, evening events, full-board campus residence accommodation and Nice airport transfers. Prices in summer 2027 start from €1,350 for one week.

This French programme is ideal for teenage language learners. It offers students the opportunity to practise their French with native teachers, study with their peers, live in a lovely residential campus and explore Cannes.
Throughout July and early August students study French in class and are entertained by French group leaders, who organise a range of sporting, social and cultural activities, on site or in the local area. Students studying for 2 weeks or longer have a Saturday excursion included and Sunday is a free day, providing the perfect opportunity to relax on the beach!

In total there are 36 language lessons over 2 weeks (unless a day is lost to a public holiday). This is equal to a term of contact lessons at most UK schools and you are immersed in France, speaking French with native French speaking teachers and the group leaders (who help organise the social activities each week). The French language college in Cannes offers French courses with other teenage language students, who have a similar French language level. Students are immersed in France, speaking French with native French speaking teachers and the “animateurs” (who help organise the social activities each week) and are encouraged to socialise and make the most of their time in France.
Teaching concentrates on grammar work and the development of oral and written skills through entertaining and motivational classroom activities, across a wide range of language levels. The teaching approach aims to stimulate young students, engaging their interest in the French language and improves their knowledge of French culture. Learning tools include songs, films, comic strips or other current documents of interest to stimulate student interest and to keep the lessons dynamic. Emphasis is placed on oral skills and developing linguistic self-confidence in an international student environment.
Social activities provide contrast and bring an additional element of fun to the overall programme. The French language school staff in Cannes are aware that the students are on holiday and therefore do all they can to ensure students enjoy their French experience, both in and outside the classroom.

The additional classes are perfect for those who wish to use this chance for extra practise in the French language to work on their oral skills. These classes focus on spoken skills to develop self-confidence and encourage students to speak.
Fees quoted on the CESA Course Fees, include tuition, activities, two way Nice airport transfer, shared room accommodation & full-board.

Public Holidays: 14 July in 2027
Lessons lost are not made up (a school guided excursion will be arranged instead). Where there is a public holiday students will effectively have a three day week, so these weeks are not recommended for one-week courses.
Cannes
The city offers all the benefits of the Riviera which the charm of this renown town, splendid sandy beaches and plenty of sunshine and yet is within easy reach of Nice airport.

Activities
A range of activities are offered as an inclusive part of this programme each week, including
1/ a half-day trip
2/ a full day trip
3/ a weekly barbecue or Crepes party
Various activities are organised such as sports tournaments, themed activities etc. On Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings the group leaders offer a fun evening programme with games and entertainment. Additional activities are offered during the summer at additional cost. Students are advised of the options via a notice board in each Centre.
No activities take place on the first or last day of a student’s course, as the group leaders are busy helping students settle in, or depart at the end of their stay.
Accommodation
A self-contained summer residential campus well located, just north of the city centre.
The Camp is based on a complex, consisting of classrooms, a campus refectory (where meals are provided on a full-board basis), the college office, an above ground swimming pool and residential accommodation; bedrooms (modern rooms for two people, with a private bathroom shared by two bedrooms).
School shuttle buses run students from the campus into town and to the beach, where curfew rules allow, depending on student age.
Please note: No air conditioning
Curfew
All ages Students are welcome to leave campus unsupervised after activities or on their free afternoon up to 19.30 hrs and then return for dinner on campus. The school will welcome 12/13 year olds on the courses, only if staying in a residence, but they will NOT be allowed out unaccompanied at the end of the activities. From past experience CESA would only recommend a 12/13 year old attending, if accompanied by an older sibling. |

For 14/15 year olds Students aged 15 yrs or younger will not be able to go out at night unsupervised. No alternative curfews or restrictions can be implemented. |

Two way transfer service from Nice airport to the college campus/hosts, is inclusive in the course fees.
An alternative transfer service can be arranged from Cannes train station (not Nice station).
School staff collect students on arrival.
Please ensure the flights arrive on the Sunday at a reasonable hour and likewise depart at a reasonable time on the Saturday. Set arrival days/times apply to the Nice transfer service and cannot be altered.
