Learn French in Bordeaux: Accommodation

Accommodation is offered in and around the city of Bordeaux. Allow between 15 and 40 minutes for the one way commute to college

French hosts/ess

  • Offered to students aged 17 yrs+
  • One week plus duration

  • Half-board (breakfast and evening meal)
  • Generally 15-40 minute commute by public transport to school

Staying with local French hosts is a great way to really immerse yourself in the French lifestyle and experience the French language in daily use.  Students can book a single room with hosts, either with half-board (breakfast and the evening meal) or on a breakfast only basis).  The French language school also offer friends and couples the chance to share a room in French host accommodation in Bordeaux, but students must book the programme for the same course duration to stay in shared room accommodation.

Year round residence accommodatio

  • Offered to students aged 18 yrs+
  • One week plus duration
  • Single rooms
  • Shared room offered to friends/couples only
  • Self-catering
  • 10-30 minute commute by public transport to school

Summer Residences

  • Available from June to end of August each year
  • 10/15 minutes commute to school
  • Minimum age accepted: 18 yrs
  • Small self-contained, modern studios (used by French University students for the rest of the year)
  • Towels and bed linen are provided

The summer residences allow students to enjoy independent living, whilst enjoying ready access to the services that make everyday life easier (laundry self-service, safe parking…). All studios are furnished and equipped with a kitchenette (ceramic hob, extractor, microwave, and fridge), desk area, bathroom, toilet, wardrobe and internet access. Please note these residences do not offer weekly cleaning. Rates include water, internet, electricity charges common and private, general maintenance of the residence. Please ask CESA for Summer residence details and prices and we can email them to you.

Travel direct to Bordeaux:
Fly to Bordeaux’s International airport or take the train from the UK by Eurostar via Lille and Poitiers.

It is important that your hosts know your arrival time, ideally between the hours of 18.00 hrs and 20.00 hrs. By prior arrangement it is possible to arrive as early as 14.00 hrs (but if you arrive before that the school will charge you for an extra night’s stay).

Taxi transfer from airport or train station: Can be booked at extra cost.
