Learn French in Nice: Language Courses

Timetable: Mon/Fri
08.45 – 10.15 / 10.30 – 12.00 or 15.30 – 17.00 / 17.15 – 18.45

• No Standard group lessons are held on the first Monday
• First day of class = language assessment, induction and guided tour in Nice
• 2nd week and all further weeks of study = a full week of classes from Monday/Friday

Methods used are based on

• Team oral exercises. Role-playing, discussions, simulations, round tables, tape recordings, practical exercises in real life situations, video, games…
• A “digestible” approach to learning grammar, developed from the French school’s student book (given to you on arrival) and permanently updated authentic documents … newspapers, narration, song lyrics, TV or radio broadcasts, exercises…
• Home work assignments will be given regularly
• Qualified native speaking French teachers who will be able to motivate and encourage you every step of your French language course.

As the first Monday is taken up with tests and induction, so effectively you will have 4 days of classes in the first week.
If the week coincides with a public holiday this means you will only have 3 days of classes – please discuss this with CESA if this applies to you.

The morning classes follow the same format as the Standard Course, described above and the additional 08 lessons are held over three afternoons devoted to the practical application of your French knowledge, an approach to cultural, social political and economic life in France.

According to your French language level, your class will focus on: opinion polls, debates, literature, history, theatre, music… these additional small group classes really aid linguistic development and self-confidence.

This means the French language course concentrates on the main aspects of French language: grammar, vocabulary, standard of written and oral expression, knowledge of French culture and civilisation.

• 20 French group lessons + 6 private lessons
• (same format as the Combined Course)
• Exams offered at A1, A2, B1 & B2 levels

If your current language level is already the one you of your requested diploma, you can enrol directly for the 4 week preparation course. If your current level is just under the one of the requested diploma, you will have to do a 4 week Standard Course prior to your DELF Preparation Course.  CESA can send you the French School Test to help you determine your level.
NOTE : Three of the French school staff are members of the DELF jury, so the school is well placed to ensure all French language students achieve their DELF exam goals.

The Over 30 French language course is offered in July/August in Nice.

An extremely intensive French language course, ideal for those who wish to make maximum French language progress over a one- or two-week period. Aimed at anyone who needs to work on their French for academic or professional reasons, for whom time is of the essence.
