Learn Spanish in Malaga: Accommodation

There’s a great range of accommodation options available.
Students can choose to stay in the on site residence, with local hosts or in simple student apartments. All accommodation is to the east of Malaga city, near the college. Allow approximately 10 to 30 minutes for the morning commute to college, if with hosts, or longer if in student apartments (particularly Style B apartments). Of course, if you stay on site, commuting is not an issue!

On Site College Residence

  • Offered to 16 yrs + year round
  • Single rooms
  • Shared rooms – two students
  • Shared rooms – three students
  • Executive rooms (Higher standard rooms)
  • Executive studios (larger rooms with kitchenette)
  • No meals included, as the norm
  • Meals can be offered at extra cost
  • All rooms include a private bathroom, safe, telephone, free Wi-Fi & a cleaning service

The Residence is a popular option year round (everyone loves to live on site) and becomes very busy in the summer months, so please check availability with CESA as early as possible.  NB: It can also be a little noisy in the summer with a larger percentage of younger students (so if you want to avoid the 16/24 yr olds don’t book a course for peak season)!

Malaga: Room Malaga: Balcony

It offers triple or double, shared rooms (you don’t have to share with friends, but we would recommend this for older students), or single rooms. Each room has its own small en suite bath or shower room with wc. No meals are included in the cost – students can pay as they go for meals either on site, in the many varied restaurants/cafes along the sea front or go into town.  Alternatively you can book a meal plan with the college – talk to CESA if interested.

A double room for sole use is also an option (as the single rooms are small) but NOT in the summer season.

In addition the residence offers Executive rooms for one person or couples to share, with en suite bathrooms, TV, fridge and small private balcony.  There are also some larger Studios on site (they cost more, but are very comfortable and are in high demand).

Spanish hosts/Private households

  • Offered to 16 yrs + year round
  • Single rooms
  • Shared rooms – on request
  • Half-board (breakfast & lunch)

Local Spanish hosts are normally 10 to 25 minutes on foot form the college, and within easy reach of the beach. Dinner is sometimes available on request, rather than lunch, but remember that the majority of students will book the breakfast/lunch option and inevitably enjoy eating out in the evening on the sea front. If following a programme of 25 lessons or more (per week) discuss changing to breakfast and dinner, with CESA as it may suit your timetable better.

Shared apartments

  • Offered to 18 yrs + year round
  • Single rooms
  • Shared rooms
  • Self-catering

Students can rent an apartment, sharing with other language students, for up to 8 weeks initially and can then choose to extend the arrangement, once out in Spain.

Apartments offer self catering accommodation in single rooms, shared rooms or, when available, shared rooms for sole use:

Style A
Within 10 minutes walk of the college, with air con, safety deposit boxes, pool access (May/Oct) shared bathroom, living room and kitchen.

Style B
30 mins+ travel to college, no air con, more basic furnishings, shared bathroom, living room and kitchen.

Travel

Arrive: Sunday PM
Depart: Saturday AM

We recommend students fly direct to Malaga’s Pablo Picasso International airport and then take a taxi or the college arranged transfer service to the college (the trip takes around 20 minutes). Public transport in Malaga is good value for money, efficient (allowing for traffic congestion) and easy to tackle even if this is your first visit to Spain.

You are welcome to take the college transfer service at additional cost from the airport if preferred (one or two way service offered at extra cost).
