All students are encouraged to make the most of their time in Malaga by participating in guided excursions and activities offered by the college. As there are always plenty of students in the college it is very rare for any event to be cancelled and from past experience CESA students love the sociable atmosphere and busy activity programme to the full!

Various events are offered by the college on a weekly basis; a guided tour of Malaga, party evenings at the college, Spanish films, Flamenco dance lessons and at additional cost, full day excursions, tapas bar crawls and occasional weekend excursions to Morocco. All of which gives a cultural context for the Spanish language, enables students to get to know each other and most importantly is fun!

For shopping in Malaga head to Calles Marques de Larios or the various modern shopping centres for luxury or fashion items or ask the school staff for tips for bargain hunting. Food is taken very seriously and there are plenty of restaurants to chose from, satisfying every style, taste and budget. Foodies should also check out “Atarazanas” Malaga’s main market, open every day except Sunday and selling all kinds of fish, meat, cheese, fruit and vegetables it is a riot of colour, sights and sounds.

For many students, the beaches are the major attraction from May through to October.

Students with sporting interests including Tennis, Tai chi, Aerobics and Weights can attend a private Sports Club at reduced cost. Out of the summer season students enjoy skiing in the mountains (January to April), golf and hiking. During Easter, the “Semana Santa” processions are spectacular to watch, as thousands of people take to the streets to join in the festivities.

The highlight of the summer calendar in Malaga is the “Feria” de Malaga, which takes place in either the 2nd or 3rd week of August. This involves 9 days of fabulous street entertainment, with people dancing and riding in the streets dressed in traditional Flamenco and Andalucian costumes, the partying frequently goes on until the small hours of the following day.

For those who want to explore Malaga’s night-life we recommend the bars and restaurants in El Palo, near the college. This is where the whole of Malaga comes to promenade, expect to see hundreds of people of all ages, late into the night. Pedragalejo has plenty of fashionable, and traditional, bars and restaurants to explore. There are fabulous tapas bars to sample in Malaga’s city centre, around Calle Nueva and several flamenco clubs where you can party until the early hours.
