Covid cancellation rules apply when:
– You are not permitted to travel due to official travel restrictions from your home country
– You are not permitted to travel due to entry restrictions into Japan
– You have official medical proof of a positive COVID-19 test
– a new lockdown is ordered by the Japanese government affecting students on site
Prior to arrival:
If it is justified for covid related reasons, the student can cancel up to 4 days in advance of arrival and get a 100% refund on tuition and accommodation fees, except the admin fee (42,000.00 Yen). If the student wishes they can transfer to online classes, which will run throughout 2021.
Once in Japan/Tuition:
If you need to cut the trip short for covid related reasons, you can either take online classes, accept a voucher for future study for up to 2 years, or cancel the remaining programme and get a refund for the balance of the tuition (for full weeks, not partial weeks).
Once in Japan/Accommodation:
Once in Japan the school must follow the accommodation company rules, so cannot guarantee 100% refund of the unused weeks of accommodation.

Currently only students with Student Visas or Working Visas (attending long term courses) are able to travel to and study in Japan. However we anticipate that students attending short term courses (travelling on tourist visas) will be able to travel to Japan from May 2021 onwards. Final confirmation will be notified on this page and via the CESA newsletter, as soon as possible.
