Learn Italian in Viareggio: Social Life
All students are encouraged to make the most of their time in Viareggio by participating in guided excursions and activities offered by the college.
A range of activities are offered including: dinners with the teachers, film evenings, visits to vineyards, day excursions to the surrounding area and sports such as: football, tennis, squash, golf and swimming.
A sample of a Week’s cultural programme:
Monday: Welcome dinner with the teachers and fellow students
Wednesday: Half-day excursion to either Pisa, Pietrasanta, Lucca or Torre del Lago
Thursday: “Spaghetti Party”, on the beach, a get together where we cook pasta and students bring their own drinks. This happens during the summer season and is very popular with the students.
Activities outside of the School:
There are numerous discos, elegant shops along the beach, and easy to reach sports centres in Viareggio. You can hire a bike and take an unforgettable ride through the pine groves. Travel further afield to visit Pisa, Florence, Siena, Lucca or the famous marble quarries of Carrara. However it is the long stretches of golden sand, and the chance to combine language study with some serious sun worshipping that appeals to many of our students.
