Course Structure & Timetable
The Spanish courses are available across a variety of levels from complete beginner up to advanced.
The course takes place from Monday to Friday and consists of 20 group lessons of 45 minutes each per week.
Max. 6 student per group course.
The school staff always ensure that students receive individual attention.
Group timetable: 7:45 hrs – 11:00 hrs or 15:00 hrs – 18:15 hrs
Course Content
This course aims to develop the four main Spanish language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as to improve grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The Spanish language classes focus on communication first and foremost, which will enable students to enrich their vocabulary, to improve their fluency and to become more confident when using the language.
The curriculum is structured on six theoretical language levels, with a natural duration of between four and six weeks at each level. There are classes in grammar, oral and written exercises, practice with video and audio material and conversation on subjects of general, social and cultural interest. The methodology is the result of years of experience in the intensive teaching of Spanish. Special importance is given to the communicative aspect of the language and its use in everyday life. For this reason, the college encourages students to speak Spanish in class, and whenever possible out of class as well.
Levels offered & rate of progress
Beginner, Elementary (A1) up to Advanced (C1) levels
A student of average linguistic ability should allow four weeks to complete the Beginner and then the Elementary level, covering basic grammatical structured knowledge to be able to communicate in the practical situations of daily life plus an introduction to Spanish customs. A further eight weeks will be required to complete the two Intermediate levels, with its emphasis on grammar with reference to the past tenses and development of conversation skills (and at Intermediate 2 level, the subjunctive).
An additional four/eight weeks covers the C1 Advanced level (deepening grammatical skills, providing fluency in conversation and a deeper knowledge of Spanish culture, also written expression and the creation of texts.
In reality students chose to attend a short course or a longer programme according to their linguistic goals, personal wishes and time constraints.

The Spanish teachers are all native Ecuadorian speakers of Spanish, with University degrees, who specialize in teaching Spanish as a second language.
